Free Child Safety Fair October 25th

National child safety program provides free FBI quality fingerprints and photographs for children.

The Keeping Kids Safe Project by S.I.P. Kids, a national child safety organization who tours the country providing free FBI quality digital fingerprints for children, is coming to Indianapolis to host a free child safety fair. “Police officials say time is crucial in the recovery of missing children. One major problem that costs precious time is gathering current photographs, fingerprints, and personal information to assist law enforcement agencies,” says National Director of S.I.P. Kids, Lytishya Borglum.

Kaiser Permanente Gives $500,000 For Drought Relief

KAISER PERMANENTE GIVES $500,000 TO ASSIST VALLEY RESIDENTS AFFECTED BY THE DROUGHT

Four community organizations receive drought-relief grants to provide fresh produce, emergency water and supportive services to rural Fresno County residents.

Kaiser Permanente is providing $500,000 in grants to assist residents in Mendota, Kerman, Orange Cove, Parlier, San Joaquin, Huron and Firebaugh impacted by the state’s most severe drought on record. Four community organizations are receiving the grants to assist Fresno County residents who have limited access to food, drinking water, health care and other supportive services.

The drought-relief grants include:

Western Christian School is holding its 35th Annual Holiday Dinner on Saturday, November 22, 2014, at the Hanford Civic Auditorium. Attendees will receive a dinner of catered by Dickey’s.

It’s time to enjoy Fall colors in our backyard. CaliforniaFallColor.com has this to say about Yosemite National Park:

The famed exotic sugar maple beside the Yosemite Chapel has shed most of its ruby leaves and sections of the Tioga Road are now past peak.  Isolated stands of yellow aspen can be seen from the Tioga Road down Tenaya Canyon.

The color is descending toward Yosemite Valley.  There, black oak, dogwood and bigleaf maple have not yet begun to show much color, though the area surrounding Fern Spring at the west entrance to the valley is the first to brighten.

In the heart of Yosemite Valley, the black oak are still green, though they approach peak at Halloween and their black branches are typically dressed in bold orange leaves by the first of November.

Generosity and grandeur are combined as the Visalia Chamber of Commerce presents Babes in Toyland – the 34th Annual Christmas Tree Auction – set to kick off Friday, December 12, 2014 at the Visalia Convention Center.  

Hosted by the Visalia Chamber of Commerce, the Annual Christmas Tree Auction has become a local Holiday tradition. Each year more than 900 people dress up in their finest holiday party clothes and kick off the season with a giving spirit. The Christmas Tree Auction is the only formal event open to the public in the city. From a sit down dinner, to dancing, entertainment, and wine tasting this is an event not to be missed.
