Adventist Health / Central Valley Network will hold a Back-to-School Health Fair on July 22 to help families prepare for the upcoming school year with access to physicals, immunizations and supplies.
The fair, which includes drawings for free school supplies and bicycles, will be from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, July 22, inside McHugh Hall at St. Rose Thomas McCarthy School, 200 E. Florinda St. in Hanford. The event is free and open to the public.
Community Care clinic staff will provide asthma, dental and nutritional education through interactive activities, props and educational materials. Refreshments and healthy snacks will be provided, and a disc jockey will be there to get kids moving. Free blood pressure checks will also be available.
“The Back-to-School Health Fair is a great way for us to help families with physicals and immunizations,” said Leticia Lopez, Adventist Health / Central Valley Network Community Relations Coordinator. “Families can prepare for another school season by taking advantage of the education and school supplies this event will offer.”
At the event, families can apply for the California Healthy Families Program, which offers affordable health care. Parents must bring birth certificates, Social Security cards and proof of income to qualify. To receive immunizations, participants should bring their immunization cards.
