The Backyard Bash Continues to Grow

Back in 2007 "The Bash" started out as a backyard talent show.  However in 2010, Evan's inspiration to raise money for St. Jude came by way of his 13-year old cousin Audra Koelewyn who has been diagnosed with a brain tumor.  Evan heard about a St. Jude fundraiser on one of his favorite radio programs which fueled his passion to transform "The Bash" from backyard talent show to a St. Jude fundraising event.

In 2010 "The Bash" raised almost $800.  Last year they raised $900.  Evan chooses not have a goal for each year because whatever comes in is more than if nothing was ever done.

Talents have been gathered by word of mouth and personal connections.  Anyone is welcome to perform.  Last years audience was about 100 people viewing such talents as: singing, bands, DJ's, Flautist, comedians and instrumentalists.  Evan himself also performs.

Food is available for a donation.  You're encouraged to bring your own chair.

With food, music, fun and laughter the atmosphere gives the feel of a backyard family picnic.

Evan is a 19-year old with Cerebral Palsy confining him to a wheel chair.  His effort and the success of "The Bash" is inspiring.
